I´m A Legend raced wide, travelled well in rear, smooth headway to join leaders after 3 out, led next, drew clear from last, comfortably
Le Millenaire in touch, hit 3rd, joined leaders approaching 3 out, every chance 2 out, soon ridden, no extra from last
Pocketwood led 2nd, ridden and headed approaching 2 out, kept on same pace
Rudivale held up, headway after 6th, every chance 3 out, soon ridden, weakened before next
Mikado Melody tracked leaders, ridden and every chance after 3 out, weakened before next
So Brash chased leaders, ridden after 6th, soon beaten
Sir Harry Cool in touch, ridden after 7th, soon weakened, tailed off and pulled up before 2 out
Something Inside always behind, mistake 5th, soon lost touch, tailed off and pulled up before 2 out
Red Perfection in touch, took closer order 4th, ridden after 3 out, weakened quickly, pulled up before next
King De Lune led until 2nd, tracked leaders, ridden and weakened 7th, tailed off and pulled up before 2 out
I'M A LEGEND has raced mainly at 2m since December last year and had never really proven that he stays this far, from limited attempts. However, he was given a really patient ride early before running right away from some tired rivals (he also appeared to be kept away from the bulk of the runners throughout). This success came off a higher mark than his only previous win, so he will need to improve again.
Le Millenaire, returning from a lengthy absence, had not shown much solid form but shaped really well in this. However, he does help to give the form a moderate look.
Pocketwood has been in great heart on the Flat during the summer and was the winner of a small handicap at Worcester when last seen over hurdles. Raised 7lb for that success, he had every chance turning in but failed to get home.
Mikado Melody has been well handicapped for a while but only because he had been so disappointing in recent times. Now 10lb lower than his last success, which was back in 2006, he had run well fresh before and looked a big danger leaving the back straight, but he failed to find much for pressure and was well beaten.
