Jigsaw Dancer tracked leaders, left 3rd 6th, awkward 8th, led before next, in command from 3 out, comfortably

Oiseau De Nuit held up, hampered when left 4th 6th, went 2nd after 4 out, soon ridden, held by winner from next

Farmer´s Lad led 2nd, badly hampered by loose horse 7th, headed after next, ridden when mistake 4 out, soon beaten, regained modest 3rd before last

Space Cowboy in touch until lost place 5th, left 3rd next until hit 7th, regained 3rd after 4 out but no chance with leaders, weakened 2 out

Prince Du Seuil held up behind leaders, disputing 3rd when fell 6th

Pauntley Gofa led until 2nd, tracking leader when blundered and unseated rider 6th

Even though this was run over 2m on a flat track, the trip took a bit of getting. Most of these look capable of winning races over fences, so the form should be reliable at this sort of level. Once again, the first fence down the back straight caused mayhem, as Pauntley Gofa and his jockey parted company just before Prince Du Seuil also shed his rider.

JIGSAW DANCER was in great form last season and gained one of his three wins over this course and distance. Making his seasonal and chasing debut this time, he was always going well and showed a decent turn of foot to win by a clear margin, so one would imagine he is still on the upgrade.

Oiseau de Nuit looked the most obvious candidate after bolting up at Lingfield last time in somereally heavy ground, even after being raised 7lb for the win. Promising conditional Rhys Flint kept the ride but his mount got hampered by the two fallers at the sixth and could not make the ground up.

Space Cowboy, having his first outing of the season, travelled really well but found little for pressure.
